Dare to Believe, Then Command - Smith Wigglesworth

Verily, verily, I say unto you; He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also: and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in My name, I will do it.John 14:12-14.

Jesus is speaking here, and the Spirit of God can take these words of His and make them real to us. “He that believeth on Me… greater works than these shall he do.” What a word! Is it true? If you want the truth, where will you get it? “Thy word is truth,” Christ said to the Father. When you take up God’s Word you get the truth. God is not the author of confusion or error, but He sends forth His light and truth to lead us into His holy habitation, where we receive a revelation of the truth like unto the noon day in all its clearness.

The Word of God works effectually in us as we believe it. It changes us and brings us into new fellowship with the Father, with the Son, and with the Holy Spirit, into a holy communion, into an unwavering faith, into a mighty assurance, and it will make us partakers of the very nature and likeness of God as we receive His great and exceeding precious promises and believe them. Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Faith is the operative power.

We read that Christ opened the understanding of His disciples, and He will open up our understanding and our hearts and will show us wonderful things that we should never know but for the mighty revelation and enlightenment of the Spirit that He gives to us.

I do not know of any greater words than those found in Romans 4:16, “Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace.” Grace is God’s benediction coming right down to you, and when you open the door to Him—that is an act of faith—He does all you want and will fulfill all your desires. “It is of faith, that it might be by grace.” You open the way for God to work as you believe His Word, and God will come in and supply your every need all along the way.

Our Lord Jesus said to His disciples and He says to us in this passage in the 14th of John, “You have seen Me work and you know how I work. You shall do the very same things that I am doing, and greater things shall you do, because I am going to the Father, and as you make petition in My name I will work. I will do what you ask, and by this the Father shall be glorified.”

Did any one ever work as He did? I do not mean His carpentering. I refer to His work in the hearts of the people. He drew them to Him. They came with their needs, with their sicknesses, with their oppression, and He relieved them all. This royal Visitor, who came from the Father to express His love, talked to men, spent time with them in their homes, found out their every need. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil, and He said to them and He says to us, “You see what I have been doing, healing the sick, relieving the oppressed, casting out demons. The works that I do shall ye do also.” Dare you believe? Will you take up the work that He left and carry it on?

He that believeth on Me!” What is this? What does it mean? How can just believing bring these things to pass? What virtue is there in it? There is virtue in these words because He declares them. If we will receive this word and declare it, the greater works shall be accomplished. This is a positive declaration of His, “He that believeth on Me, greater works than these shall he do,” but unbelief has hindered our progress in the realm of the spiritual.

Put away unbelief. Open your heart to God’s grace. Then God will come in and place in you a definite faith. He wants to remove every obstruction that is in the world before you. By His grace He will enable you to be so established in His truth, so strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, that whatever comes across your path to obstruct you, you can arise in divine power and rebuke and destroy it.

It is a matter of definite and clear understanding between us and God. To recognize that Christ has a life force to put into us, changes everything that we dare to believe it will change. He that believes that Jesus is the Christ overcomes the world. Because we believe that Jesus is the Christ, the essence of divine life is in us by faith and causes a perfect separation between us and the world. We have no room for sin. It is a joyful thing for us to be doing that which is right. He will cause that abundance of grace to so flow into our hearts that sin shall not have dominion over us. Sin shall not have dominion; nor sickness, nor affliction. “He that believeth”—he that dares to believe—he that dares to trust—will see victory over every oppression of the enemy.

A needy creature came to me in a meeting, all withered and wasted. He had no hope. There was absolute death in his eyes. He was so helpless he had to have some one on each side to bear him up. He came to me and said in a whisper, “Can you help me?” Will Jesus answer? “He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these…. Behold, I give you power… over all the power of the enemy.” These are the words of our Lord Jesus. It is not our word but the word of the Lord, and as this word is in us He can make it like a burning passion in us. We make the Word of God as we believe it our own. We receive the Word and we have the very life of Christ in us. We become supernatural by the power of God. We find this power working through every part of our being.

Now Christ gives us something besides faith. He gives us something to make faith effectual. Whatsoever you desire, if you believe in your heart you shall have. Christ said, “Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.Mark 11:22-24. Whatsoever he saith! Dare to say in faith and it shall be done. These things have been promised by Christ and He does not lie.

This afflicted man stood before me helpless and withered. He had had cancer in his stomach. The physicians had operated upon him to take away the cancer from the stomach, but complications had arisen with the result that no food could enter the man’s stomach. He could not swallow anything. So in order to keep him alive they made a hole in his stomach and put in a tube about nine inches long with a cup at the top, and he was fed with liquid through this tube. For three months he had been just kept alive but was like a skeleton.

What was I to say to him? “If thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God.

Here was the word of Christ, “He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also, and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father.” The Word of God is truth. Christ is with the Father and grants us our requests, and makes these things manifest, if we believe. What should I do in the presence of a case like this? “Believe the Word.” So I believed the Word which says, “He shall have whatsoever he saith.Mark 11:23. I said, “Go home, and have a good supper.” He said, “I cannot swallow.” “Go home, and have a good supper,” I repeated. “On the authority of the Word of God I say it. Christ says that he that believes that these things which he says shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he says. So I say, Go home in the name of Jesus, and have a good supper.”

He went home. Supper was prepared. Many times he had had food in his mouth but had always been forced to spit it out again. But I dared to believe that he would be able to swallow that night. So that man filled his mouth full as he had done before, and because some one dared to believe God’s Word and said to him, “You shall have a good supper in the name of Jesus,” when he chewed his food it went down in the normal way into his stomach, and he ate until he was quite satisfied.

He and his family went to bed filled with joy. The next morning when they arose they were filled with the same joy. Life had begun again. Naturally he looked down to see the hole that had been made in his stomach by the physicians. But God knew that he did not want two holes, and so when God opened the normal passage He closed the other hole in his stomach. This is the kind of God we have all the time, a God who knows, a God who acts, and brings things to pass when we believe. Dare to believe, and then dare to speak, and you shall have whatsoever you say if you doubt not.

A woman came to me one night and inquired, “Can I hear again? Is it possible for me to hear again? I have had several operations and the drums of my ears have been taken away.” I said, “If God has not forgotten how to make drums for ears you can hear again.” Do you think God has forgotten? What does God forget? He forgets our sins, when we are forgiven, but He has not forgotten how to make drums for ears.

Not long ago the power of God was very much upon a meeting that I was holding. I was telling the people that they could be healed without my going to them. If they would rise up I would pray and the Lord would heal. There was a man who put up his hand. I said, “Cannot that man rise?” The folks near him said he could not, and lifted him up. The Lord healed him, the ribs that were broken were knit together again and were healed.

There was such faith in the place that a little girl cried out, “Please, gentleman, come to me.” You could not see her, she was so small. The mother said, “My little girl wants you to come.” So I went down there to this child, who although fourteen years of age was very small. She said with tears streaming down her face, “Will you pray for me?” I said, “Dare you believe?” She said, “O yes.” I prayed and placed my hands on her head in the name of Jesus.

“Mother,” she said, “I am being healed. Take these things off—take them all off.” The mother loosed straps and bands and then the child said, “Mother, I am sure I am healed. Take these off.” She had straps on her legs and an iron on her foot about 3½ inches deep:, She asked her mother to unstrap her. Her mother took off the straps. There were not many people with dry eyes as they saw that girl walk about with legs just as normal as when she was born. God healed her right away. What did it? She had cried, “Please, gentleman, come to me,” and her longing was coupled with faith. May the Lord help us to be just like a simple child.

God has hidden these things from the wise and prudent, but He reveals them to babes. There is something in childlike faith in God that makes us dare to believe, and then to act. Whatever there is in your life that is bound, the name of Jesus and the power of that name will break it if you will only believe. Christ says, “If ye shall ask any thing in My name, I will do it.” God will be glorified in Christ when you receive the overflowing life that comes from Christ in response to your faith.

Dare to believe. Do you think that truth is put into the Word to mock you? Don’t you see that God really means that you should live in the world to relieve the oppression of the world? God answers us that we shall be quickened, be molded afresh, that the Word of God shall change everything that needs to be changed, both in us and in others, as we dare to believe and as we command things to be done. “Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith.

WOW!!! I just now, this very moment, realized that this was first published this very same day that I decided I must put this in my blog. And that after I had read it, decided to post it, formatted it and was just about to post it but forgot to put the source at the bottom. I did not even look at the date before doing any of this. It was only at the very end when I decided to include the source that I noticed the date. 74 years to the day. HAHA! Glory to God! Bless God! This is definitely from the Lord. "He who has ears to hear, let him hear!" Mark 4:9

Jesus, You need to get the glory that You paid for! - In Jesus - 03-14-2014

I had the privilege to see Jesus bring Himself glory today. I was out walking at lunch and recalling some moments in the past where He had done so, and was just thanking Him for using me in those situations. I said to Him, "Jesus, You need to receive the Glory that You paid for." Wanting to see Him use me again, just for that purpose.

Just then I saw a woman walking toward me and decided I was going to approach her and ask if she had any pain or sickness in her body and see Him get His glory. She did in fact have pain. She reported pain in her feet. I asked her if she could gauge the level from 1 to 10. It was at an 8 out of 10. She also said she was going to be going for surgery in a few days as she had lots of calluses that caused a lot of pain.

Without telling her why, I asked if I could have her hand for a moment. I am amazed at how many people around here are so willing to just give you their hand without even knowing why, haha. Well she did. With her hand in mine, I looked at her feet and with my other hand pointed at them and waved over them as if throw the power of God at them, and proceeded to commanded the pain to go from her in the name of Jesus Christ. I commanded the calluses to be removed and the tissues to soften up and be restored to normal. I commanded any spirits of pain and infirmity to go. Also declaring that Jesus is Lord, that He is good, that He loves her and wants her to be well and see His glory.

She reported that the pain was now down by half, a 4 out of 10. She seemed quite surprised, and thanked me. I asked to have her hand again and then proceeded to thank the Lord for what He was doing, and commanded the pain to go all the way.

She was now at a level of 1 out of 10. I told her that I believed it was going to continue to go completely away. But she didn't want any further prayer. She was very thankful and happy for what was already done. She said she knew the Lord as her Savior. I assured her that He was also her healer, and that just as He died on the cross for her sins, he also took her sicknesses and pains on Himself that day too. She said "Oh, ok." and it seemed almost as if she didn't know that. But I think she does now. haha! I introduced myself before going and asked her name too, it was Elsie. We said our goodbyes and I went on rejoicing in the Lord! haha! I love Him and love seeing Him touch someone in any way!

Jesus, You need to get the glory that You paid for! Thank You for using me!

I'm Yours, Lord - In Jesus - 03-07-2014

I was reading this little Christian Worker's New Testament that I found here in my building while sitting in the rotunda at work. There was a co-worker sitting near by. I had never shared my faith or anything about the Lord with him in the past. I thought in my mind *What could I do for him, Lord*. Right away I recalled a long time ago that I overheard him talking about back pain he had. I wanted to pray for him then but didn't feel the opportunity was ever right and I forgot about it. Well, I felt like God was telling me to do so now. I noticed my mind wanted to reject this. I unconsciously ignored the thought. I paused and thought *What am I doing? I would not have remembered this if it wasn't the Lord telling me.* I apologized to the Lord. I pondered, *Do I get up and go to him now?* I only thought this for a few seconds and then decided to get up and do it. I walked over to him and asked him about back pain. He confirmed that he did injure his back many years ago and does get pain from time to time. He asked why and I explained that I am a Christian and I pray for people and God heals them. I told him about many times where I have prayed for others who had back pain where before hand I would check their legs and find that one is shorter than the other and told him how I would command their shorter leg to grow out in Jesus' name and it would come out and they would be healed. He right away said, "You can pray for me." with a smile on his face.

I had him position himself in his seat with his back completely level against the back for chair. There was a coffee table right in front of him so I just slid that under his legs and let them rest there. We found that his right leg was shorter than the left by about 1/4 of an inch. I showed him. I proceeded to command his right leg to grow in Jesus' name. I spoke to it a number of times but it wasn't budging. After a bit, I moved the table out from under him and held his legs with my hands and prayed again. After praying for a few minutes there was no change.

His break was over and mine was almost over, so we had to head back. He did mention that his back felt better, even though it wasn't really sore before hand. I apologized to him. I have been dealing with my own health issues and not seeing complete freedom in my own body yet and feel that maybe I am too "Me" focused. I explained that maybe my faith wasn't where it needed to be to see his leg grow out. He was thankful either way. I was for him allowing me to pray and speak to him about the Lord a bit.

I was talking with the Lord and asking Him to help me with any doubt and unbelief I may have been in agreement with in the last little while. I was frustrated for a bit that I didn't see his healing happen right then and there. I admitted failure.

I will not give up. I have seen Him do greater things and will continue to. I will be used by Him for His glory and His kingdom! I will be a partaker of His healing in my own body and I will bring freedom to others, in His name, for His glory, for His kingdom! This will be because I love Him and I will obey Him. If I stumble I will get back up and keep going, by His grace and His power.

I am Yours Lord. Use me. I love You!! Thank You for healing and wholeness in my life, and in those around me. Thank You for salvations, deliverance, for knowing You more and growing in You!

Grace, peace and love in Jesus Christ!

Won't you follow Jesus?

To you who do not believe in and currently follow Jesus Christ as Lord, including those who are now wayward and have walked away from Him:

Without faith in, and obedience to the Son of God, your sins remain, and the wrath of God abides on you. You will die in your sins and there remains a judgment from God against those sins. The payment for those sins is death, but not just death, Jesus Himself says it will be everlasting fire (Matthew 18:8, Matthew 25:41), and everlasting punishment (Matthew 25:46), and Paul says it is everlasting destruction (2 Thessalonians 1:9).

Jesus who was perfect and sinless (the only Man who ever was) came to set all those who would believe in Him free from their sins and the judgment to come and to reconcile them to God. He did this by being yet perfect, sinless and guiltless Himself, He died the death that you should have died, received the punishment you should have received in your place, and then He raised from the grave so that you may receive new life and one day be resurrected to receive a new body that will live forever with Him. He came to give you eternal life today. To know Him is LIFE and PEACE. To know Him is eternal life. To not know Him, is death and restlessness and no peace. If you honestly look deep inside yourself, you will see, without Him it is empty and you most likely even fear death. You fear death because you know there is more, even though with your mind you may not know it. You were created to be eternal and that is why you fight death and fear it. That is why you want to be fixed and go to the doctor when you have something wrong in your body. You know that you weren't meant to be that way. You weren't meant to be sick and die. In the very core of your being you crave eternal life. We all do. Well, He came so that you COULD be forgiven of all your sins, set free from them, and so that you COULD live forever with Him.

So I say, repent and believe, follow Him, and be forgiven, be free, and receive eternal life! If you turn from your sins and turn to Him, believe with your heart that God raised Jesus from the grave and confess Him as Lord with your mouth, you will be saved! Trust in Him that He took your sin debt for you. Call out to Him, receive Him. To confess Him as Lord isn't just in word though, it means in deed too. You actually follow Him, and if you do, you will be where He is, that is heaven, not only when you pass on, but here and now.

This is some of what the Bible says regarding this:

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. John 3:36 ESV

Then Jesus said to them again, "I am going away, and you will seek Me, and will die in your sin. Where I go you cannot come." So the Jews said, "Will He kill Himself, because He says, 'Where I go you cannot come'?" And He said to them, "You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins." John 8:21-24

Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, "Do you believe in the Son of God?" He answered and said, "Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?" And Jesus said to him, "You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you." Then he said, "Lord, I believe!" And he worshiped Him. And Jesus said, "For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind." Then some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these words, and said to Him, "Are we blind also?" Jesus said to them, "If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, 'We see.' Therefore your sin remains. John 9:36-41

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

"When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.' Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.' Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.' Then they also will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?' Then He will answer them, saying, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.' And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." Matthew 25:31-46

Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. Revelation 20:11-21:4

how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they killed by hanging on a tree. Him God raised up on the third day, and showed Him openly, not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God, even to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead. And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead. To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins. Acts 10:38-43

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:9-13

He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. John 12:25-26
