Healing and Salvation - In Jesus - 09-25-2014

Today, Jimmy, a North American Indian man, who smelled of alcohol, received healing for pain in his chest after 4 times of laying hands on him and commanding the pain to go and healing to come in the name of Jesus.

I shared the gospel with him; the gospel about how Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who is One with the Father and One with the Holy Spirit, how He came in the flesh of man, lived a perfect sinless life, then died a death on the cross and rose from the grave 3 days later, all to save us from our sins, to save us from death, and to save us from judgment for our sins and an eternity in hell. The gospel that says that if we would believe in Him and follow Him, our sin would be paid for by Himself, He could then forgive us, and then give us His righteousness as a gift, and restore us to God. We can then have a relationship with Him, and He can lead us in the way to walk and live by His Spirit. After hearing all that, he wanted to, and asked the Lord Jesus to be his Savior and Lord. He had a tear in his eye while I was praying for him. He seemed really impacted. After that I also prayed over him that he would receive the Holy Spirit. There was no manifestation of speaking in tongues though.

All this during a small walk on one of my afternoon breaks from work.

Jesus is LORD in Winnipeg!

I later ran into him again at the end of my shift on my way home and invited him to church. I also encouraged him to read his bible. He said he had 4 of them. I suggested to start in James, a book after his own name, explaining it was a small, good and easy to read book, with direction on how to live a godly life in Christ.

He said his pain was still gone and that he felt good. He thanked me and said a few times "My heart goes out to you." Hehe! Praise the Lord!

I know - In Jesus - 09-14-2014

I was on my way home after going for a late evening walk in the park and felt the desire for a chicken sandwich. I haven't purchased fast food in what seems like a very long time. I went to this one McDonald's that is sort of out of the way from being on the way home and after looking over the menu board decided to order a grilled chicken and bacon wrap.

I paid for my sandwich and as I waited for the wrap to be ready I noticed the other team member of the girl who served me inside the store and she had a tensor bandage around her right hand. I got excited and immediately started to ask the Lord to make her bring my sandwich over instead. Haha. Well, she didn't bring it, but once the girl who served me brought the sandwich I asked her "Hey does your team member have a sore hand why she has the bandage on it?" She said that she did. I said "Can you ask her if I can pray for it to be healed?" She was a little surprised at my request and asked me to repeat myself. I repeated myself and she said "Ok, sure."

She called the other girl over to the window and said, "This guy wants to pray for you for your hand to get better." The girl with the tensor bandage on said "No no, that's ok." while shaking her head no. I said "Come on. Please. It will be really quick. I'll just take your hand and it will be a few seconds." She conceded and proceeded to come closer to the drive thru window. I said, "Ok, so just give me your hand" and she did. I grabbed it with my left hand and then asked about how much pain there was. She said it really didn't hurt, but that she just put the bandage on to keep it all together. Whatever that meant? haha. She then told me about how she slammed it in a door, then pulled her hand away from mine and pointed with her left hand to the middle of her right hand between the thumb and index finger, then reached back to grab my hand again. I said "Oh ok, but you will feel it if you press on it, right? You can feel the pain then, right?" She said "Yes."

She then said, "Ok, go ahead." meaning for me to pray for her. I thought for a second then shook my head and said "Well, I believe it is already better. Press on it and see if you can tell if it is." She did so and then said, "You know, it actually is." I said, "I know. See, the Bible says believers lay hands on the sick and they recover. I am a believer in Jesus and He lives inside of me. Because I believe in Him and asked Him to be my Lord and Savior, He came to live inside of me. And He does that through believers. He came and died on a cross then rose from the grave so that you could be restored to God. So that if you believe in Him, He will come and live inside of you too."

She started giving me a little bit of a look where she didn't really seem to want to hear it, so I just said, "I don't know if that's what you believe or not, but that is the truth. He healed people when He was on the earth to show people that He was who He said He was, that He really came from the Father. And He does that through believers today, so that others will believe." She said, "Ok, well thank you for doing that for me. It really is better." I said, "I know." and drove off thanking the Lord for using me. Haha. I love it! JESUS!!!

...we stopped at this one point in the store... - In Jesus - 09-12-2014

I stopped at a grocery store on the way home after work tonight. I was finished in there and on my way out when I saw coming toward me a little elderly Filipino woman walking with a cane in her right hand and with who looked like her grand daughter on the same right side. I walked up to her and started walking backwards on her left to follow her going the opposite direction that I was originally heading. And as we walked together past the row of cash registers, I explained "I pray for people and Jesus heals them. I see you have a cane. Are you in pain? Can I pray for you?" Initially seeming a little timid at my approach, she seemed to open up after hearing my request, but didn't stop walking in the other direction and sort of made mention and motion with her arm that she was on her way somewhere. I just kept following and asking where the pain was and how bad. She said it was both her legs, but more so the left one and pointed to it. I tried to get a level of pain out of her. Like an x out of 10, but she seemed in a rush and not really able to give me one. I wondered if she understood so I guessed for her and said "Could it be like a 5 out of 10?" She said, "Yes, could be." At this point we stopped at this one point in the store and I assumed it was because she was going to let me pray. So I asked to put my hand on her shoulder as I was intent on speaking to the pain, commanding it to leave. She let me do so. Her grand daughter was so protective. I could tell she was nervous and a little worried about what I was going to do. As I was about to put my hand on her grand mother's shoulder she seemed to want to get between me and her. Or maybe she was just moving out of the way to let people pass by, haha. I wasn't too sure, as I was more so focused on getting this dear woman well. I placed my hand on her shoulder, commanded all pain to leave her in the name of Jesus and then looked in her face and said "How is it? Is it all gone? Is it better?" She processed it for a moment, seeming to try to feel the pain, then gave a big sigh of relief and looked at me and nodded yes and said "Thank you!" and started to walk around me and away from me. It was at this point that I realized where she was heading all along, why she was in a rush, and why she had stopped at this particular point in the store. She walked around me and headed into the woman's bathroom entrance which was directly behind me. Haha! I laughed afterwards. Here I was holding her up when she apparently had to badly get to the woman's bathroom. But hey, I'm pretty sure the pain was either gone, or in the least much better, judging by her reaction. Her grand daughter thanked me as well as they headed off into the bathroom and I continued on my way out of the store.

God is so good! I love being used by Him!

Love the one in front of you.

"I don't really feel it anymore." - In Jesus - 09-08-2014

I was initially planning on doing a fast today when I went to work this morning so I didn't bring any food with me. Once arriving at work and finding that I had been placed in the coldest spot on the whole office floor (they sit us in different spots), and anyone who has fasted before knows how your body temperature drops when you do, I thought to myself *Oh dear, this is going to be a chilly day.* A few minutes into my shift I had the thought to reach my hand inside one of the pockets of my backpack. I wasn't even sure why or what I was looking for. As I unzipped it and slid my hand in, I felt half of a Bounty coconut chocolate bar, my favorite bar. Score! haha. I decided not to fast and eat the bar to bring up my body temperature so I wouldn't be so cold. Thank You Lord!

During my lunch break I decided to stop at the Forks Market to pick myself up a coffee and maybe a dainty or something. I ended up buying a coffee and a nanaimo bar. The nanaimo bar was so yummy. While I was walking out the back of the Forks Market, I was approached by 6 young adults and one of them was holding out an Apple iPhone toward me asking if I could take a picture of them all jumping up at the same time. I said sure. We tried 3 times and finally on the third time, I got an acceptable shot. The last time they jumped up, the one guy who had asked me to take the photo, had swung his arm back and accidentally swiped one of the girls on the nose. She was standing there holding it and mentioning about how it hurt.

I figured this was definitely a divine appointment so I decided to ask if any of them had any pain or sickness in their bodies. The girl who was hit said "My nose hurts." I walked up to her and asked what the pain level was at. I believe she said it was a 3 or 4 out of 10. I said "Watch this. Let me touch your nose for a second. Don't worry, I won't hurt you. Just watch." She was a little nervous but let me do it. The others just stood by and watched. I reached out my right finger and put it lightly on the tip of her nose and then said "Pain go. Leave this girl's nose, right now, in the name of Jesus." I stepped back and asked her how it felt. She giggled uncomfortably and said "I don't really feel it anymore."

I smiled and was about to say something then the young man who accidently hit her spoke up and said something along the lines of "I have pain in my foot right now. Can you do that for to me?" and he put his foot toward me. I asked him what the pain level was at and I think he gave me the level also at a 3 out of 10. I said "Ok, watch this", and bent over and put my hand on his right foot and then spoke to it and commanded all pain to leave in Jesus' name. I stepped back and said "How is it? Where's the pain? It's all gone, right?" He said "Ya." with a bit of a surprised look on his face and started to move it around. I said "Crazy hey? You see. That's Jesus, man. He's real. He really is the Son of God." As he was moving it around he found that he could still feel it slightly and mentioned so, so I bent over and laid my hand on it once again and commanded the pain to go one more time.

I stepped back and explained who Jesus was to them all, why He came and why they all needed Him as Lord and Savior. They all listened as I explained the gospel to them. Some more intently than the others. I quickly shared how they can go about asking Him to be their Lord and then the one who had his foot healed, the one who seemed to be more of the leader of the bunch, said "Well, we should really hurry up and get going. We are already late. But thank you for sharing with us and taking the picture and also for helping me." I let them go and thanked them for listening to me and for letting me pray for them.

Thank You Lord! Grant each one repentance to life, eternal life, and knowledge of You!
