Pain Goes and Starts to Go From Two Elderly Folks - In Jesus - 03-19-2015

I was walking at lunch out of my work building and noticed a elderly woman who had a cane up ahead. I approached her and asked if she was in pain. She said she was in her feet as she just had surgery. I told her that I pray for people and Jesus heals them. She said "Oh I know!" So I asked if I could pray for her. She said she must go now as she had to catch a bus. I assured her it would only be a few seconds and had to convince her a couple times. She gave in and said "Ok." I placed my hand on her shoulder and commanded her feet to be pain free and healed in Jesus' name. She said thank you and started to walk away from me. I yelled out to her, "Do you feel different? Is it better?" She said "Yes, thank you." And kept going without looking back. haha!

A little further on my walk I saw an elderly gentleman walking toward a commemorative plaque next to a Gandhi statue. He was walking in a way that made me think he had pain. I approached him while he was reading the plaque and said "They say he was a man of peace." And he replied, "Supposedly." I said, "Are you in pain?" He responded, "Yes, how did you know?" I explained "I saw you walking and thought you walked as if you had pain. I am a man of peace too, and I have the Prince of peace, Jesus, living inside me. I pray for people and He heals them." asking if he would like to be healed of the pain. He said "Well, I don't know if it will do you any good, but it won't hurt, so go ahead." I found out he had pain in his knee (recent surgery) and shoulder at a level of about a 3 or 4 out of 10. I put my hand on him and commanded healing in Jesus' name. He reported it being better but still a little sore and he would only know about the knee if he walked for a while. I prayed one more time for the shoulder and then he said it was still a bit sore but noticeably better. I shared the gospel with him and explained why he noticed it getting better, in that it was a sign so that he might repent and believe. He said that if He (Jesus) heals him he may become more faithful. I trust he's pain free now as believers lay hands on the sick and they recover.

And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." Mark 16:15-18

This Supernatural Journey II

This evening during one of my breaks I went for a walk through an area of the city called The Forks, as I usually do. There is this walkway that goes through what they call The Peace Meeting site. The Prince of Peace showed up there today.

Number 42; The Prince of Peace meeting area.

As I went along this pathway, I walked past an older couple. The lady was very friendly and smiled at me. I smiled back. I continued on my way to the point where I usually walk up to, then turned around to head back to work. On the way back, I walked through The Peace Meeting site again and the same couple was now sitting in the chairs they have in that area. I thought I previously saw the woman having difficulty walking, so I figured I would ask her about it. As I spoke to her, she said, "Oh, I don't have any problems walking. He does" and she pointed to her husband. I explained that I pray for people and God heals them.

I asked if He would like that. "Hmm, I don't think I would mind that." he said, as he shrugged his shoulders slightly and shuffled forward in his chair. I asked him what was wrong and why he had problems walking. He explained that he had Spinal Stenosis and that pain would usually go down his legs but today it was around his groin. I asked his name, if I could pray for him right now, and if I could lay my hand on him while I did so. He said "Sure." I put my hand on his shoulder and prayed. They both bowed their heads and prayed along with me, and ended it in agreement with an "Amen". I asked him to get up and test it out. He got up and walked around a bit. He seemed unsure at first but said it was a bit better. I walked to stand next to him and explained that I didn't believe that I could lay hands on him and pray and nothing would happen. I said "...they that believe shall... lay hands on the sick and they shall recover." That the Lord had begun the work of healing in him and that he was going to see that the pain was completely gone before they got home. I blessed them and went on my way back to work. I find it kind of funny that I thought I saw his wife having problems, when in actuality it was him. I guess that was a word of knowledge?

After work, I decided to go for a walk near the Assiniboine Park and was listening to some Trip Lee on my ipod. The song 'Let Em Know' was playing. As I was listening, the lyrics brought to mind how I hadn't shared the gospel in a while. The whole deal, from depravity to the restoration. How we are all born into sin (Romans 3:23) and that the wages of sin are death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus (Romans 6:23). How Jesus made the way for us to be restored to the Father (2 Corinthians 5:18-19). As I was pondering this, I saw in the distance a young couple heading toward me. I determined to approach them with what was on my mind. I started off by asking them "Had you guys ever thought about God? Thought or wondered if He was real? Did you guys know that He is, and that He loves you and wants to have a relationship with you?" They shook their heads and said not really and that they had never really heard that before. I continued to share about what Jesus did for us and how we are lost without Him. I shared that we are already forgiven and that He made the way to restore us to God. That all that is needed is to come to Him, believe in Him, that Jesus died and rose from the grave for our sins and to confess Him as Lord with their mouths (Romans 10:9). And basically to just receive it as a free gift, to just reach out and take it. I also shared some of my own testimony about how the Lord called me to Him, how He healed me of a pulmonary embolism last fall through Thomas Fischer on facebook. I shared how Jesus healed the older man earlier in the day. They were so kind to let me ramble on and on, haha. I could tell that they were genuinely grateful though. They had big smile on their faces after I finished. They nodded, I sensed, as if to say thank you, and told me to have a good night. I suggested that I've given them something to think about and if they wanted to know if God was real, that they could simply ask Him if He was and He would show them.

It was a lot of fun partnering with Jesus today. :) He is so good! I am excited for what lies ahead. Aren't you?
